About Hydra
Hydra is an AI chat that brings models from several AI companies into one place: Claude (Anthropic), GPT (OpenAI), Gemini (Google), Grok (xAI), DeepSeek, Mistral, Perplexity and many more through OpenRouter. Smart mode picks a model for each question, Fusion asks several models at once and combines their answers, and Research writes cited reports from live web searches.
The models
Hydra works with Claude (Anthropic), GPT (OpenAI), Gemini (Google), Grok (xAI), DeepSeek, Mistral and Perplexity, and with many more through OpenRouter. The models on offer are the ones connected to the site, plus any you connect with your own API key. You can pick one yourself, or let Hydra choose.
How Hydra answers
- Smart
- Picks a model for each question. Quick questions go to a fast model; hard ones, such as code and maths, go to Claude Fable, the top tier of Anthropic's Claude models, when it is connected, thinking at its highest effort when there is time to.
- Fast
- A short answer from a fast model.
- Deep Think
- A model thinks at length and drafts an answer; a second model reviews the draft, and the first revises it.
- Fusion
- Several models answer independently. The claims they disagree on are checked against the web, and one combined answer says how much they agreed.
- Compare
- The models' answers side by side, not merged.
- Code
- A code-first answer; JavaScript is run to check it where possible.
- Research
- Splits the question into sub-questions, searches the web for each, and writes one report with a numbered source list.
Building and connecting
Build turns a description into a website or a small app: Hydra plans it, writes the files, checks them and shows a live preview, which you can download or publish to Netlify.
Connectors give the models access to your own tools: any MCP server, or an API imported from its OpenAPI description. You can upload PDF, Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, images and data, and analyse data with Python that runs in your browser.
There are also projects, custom agents, memory you control, scheduled tasks, voice conversations and share links.
Your chats
Without an account, chats stay in your browser. With an account they are kept with it, so you can open them on any device. You can export or delete your data at any time; see Data Controls and the Privacy Policy.
